The new arrival: Compaq Presario Note Book

Last week i quickly purchased a laptop. Only two days it took to finalize the things....(Thanks to Indian tax rules)
Model: Compaq pesarioc740tu
Price: 39970/-
Locaion: Bangalore

Spec: Intel Core 2 duo T5450 64Bit 1.6G
1GB RAM
15.4"Display
Intel Mobile 965GM chipset; Included IMA3100
DVD RW

Some observations regarding the Laptop

there is a difference of Rs 4000 between the T2330 a 32 bit processor and 64bit processor; It generally depends on

the usage. If you use 64bit or not. I got a 64bit based since its the latest trend. when the technology changes tomorrow everything may come with 64bit softwares....(just following the fastpace of changing world )! you should not regret if something is not running on your pc...(basic philosophy : worry abt the unknown future)

Compaq seems to be the cost effective model. HP seems to be nice laptop, but for same features price is lesser in

compaq. Accer is the chepest, lookwise its not appealing.Apple mac is not reachable with the price budget and

feature requirements am having.Service is better for HP and Compaq in bangalore, compared to others.

Webcam is an addon in most of the laptops....Some cases bluetooth is built-in. I got a separate usb adaptor for

bluetooth as its not built in which seemed to have no drivers available for vista...!

Few other observations so far.

vista has a separate new partition tool, which has cannot move unmovable files. hence sometimes a huge volume may

be captured by C drive. Third party tools may be required for this.

Most of the general softwares seems to have compatibility with vista.

Recovery drive takes almost 10G, a way of getting out of this as my fried suggested is to get an additional

installation CD, back up data and format the recovery disk...(Yet to try).

Gives much of sound when DVD is played in the DVD drive if CD no issues.

Speakers are not good as DELL laptops...but ok.
